The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has introduced new incentives for students studying in the country.
The Government of India has announced a Rs. 1,500 monthly stipend for students who choose a programme of study in India’s space sector.
According to a statement by the ISRO, students who have completed their first semester in the space program can avail the new subsidy at a time of their choosing.
The new subsidy is available for students completing the second or third semester, as well as those who want to continue their studies in the program after their first.
The ISRO has also added a new course of study for those who plan to stay in India for the duration of their studies.
The course will include a basic knowledge of Indian technology and scientific knowledge, along with a course in business and industry.
According a statement, the students who take the new course will get the opportunity to earn an extra Rs. 5,000 per month.
The programme is aimed at attracting students to study at ISROs campuses in the city of Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
